About Young Scholars

UCSD CREATE Young Scholars is a family-paid enrichment program provided by UC San Diego CREATE for students grades 1-12. It is an opportunity for young people to continue practicing and learning during the summer and to explore novel topics and interdisciplinary instruction tailored to their unique grade level and interests on the UC San Diego campus.

The primary goal of the Young Scholar Academy is to be a learning opportunity for students to experience the enjoyment and power of learning in an environment distinct from the traditional school day. It is also a phenomenal opportunity for educators to enjoy the creativity and freedom to educate kids outside of the confines of the classroom, state standards, and traditional assessments.

This Summer 2025, our theme is “Igniting Curiosity." Please see this year's outreach flyer below:

For our 9th-12th Grade students, Young Scholars is an opportunity to prepare for college and can be a highlight in their college applications.
